2.2 The a20100131.1 impact added by UlrichSchroeter
- We have an impact on 6 arbitration cases by SE's activity before arbitrators ruling.
5 of 6 cases closed, 4 of 6 are "Delete my Account" cases, were 3 are closed and a20100131.1 is running
- As the 3 closed "Delete my Account" cases shows on the arb case file no info, that the anonymize users data has been fullfiled in the "Delete my Account" procedure for SEs, these 3 cases seems to be not solved completely.
- There are 2 possible options
- file a dispute to reopen the 3 closed "Delete my Account" cases
handle the cases thru a20100131.1
- This opens the next question: How many deleted accounts we have and how many aren't handled correctly by manual SE procedure, so leaving useridentifiable data in the system ?
Answered within a20100131.1
- sql1: total accounts deleted: 1074
- sql2: total accounts deleted w/o manual SE procedure or with errors: 1057
2.3 Review on Open/Running 2009 cases added by UlrichSchroeter
- We have about 13 open/running arb cases left from year 2009, plz review
2.4 (C) offers withdrawel w/ conditions -> double binding problem added by UlrichSchroeter
(C) of case a20100313.1 offered a withdrawal of case a20100313.1, but the withdrawal offer includes conditions (double binding in communications) to a Delete my Account case a20110108.1. a20110108.1 cannot be processed before a20100313.1 is closed, and withdrawal cannot be processed before a20110108.1 is executed. A so called 0 option.
2.5 Experiences from the first 30 bulk handled Delete Account Cases added by UlrichSchroeter
- Ruling has to include the CCA termination date based on Certs and given Assurances.
- Requesting CAP forms from Arbitrators is an essential step, there its helpful, to leave the account of the user open, until he sent in all the requested CAP forms.
- This requires, that Arbitrator has to know, if user has given Assurances.
- So the procedural steps can be simplified to following 4 steps:
- init notification with deadline set for 14 days (if user responds, the case can continue earlier)
- request to Support for list of Asssurances Rcvd/Given of the user
- Intermediate Ruling: including CAP form request (if is Assurer), Order to Support: Printout of User data, delete account procedure for SEs (see also topic 2.2) including Certs revocation that includes request for infos about Certs (last expired, revoked cert)
- Ruling includes a) confirm intermediate ruling b) CCA termination calculation
- et cetera

Top 2.2 The a20100131.1 impact
- one opinion: leave all cases that have been closed, and only reopen if a dispute has been filed. we should leave the clean-up for the moment. Somehow document that this is the case, maybe put it on a "to do" list
- this means: leaving the user identifiable data of 1057 closed accounts in the system. The a20100131.1 impact: there are 1057 accounts deleted in the past, thru the delete function built in the system. this function is buggy, cause it leaves user identifiable data in the system, so if a user requested please delete my account, the account deletion has been imcompletely executed. So by reseting the "deleted" flag in the database, all user data is back online. Means, full name, DoB, user settings, location settings, passwords, questions and answers and much more. This happened on 1057 accounts
- Imagine one big clean-up case, where the full name of the "deleted" members is changed to the big-case-number (all according to procedure) and the case contains the data of all members. So not another 1057 cases.
- There is one more impact. Its not about the names. The other impact is the "news options" settings. Mario has ruled an arb case regarding newsletters ... this relates onto "clean" data regarding newsletter settings. This doesn't happen currently as long the 1057 accounts didn't cleanup
- Quick summary: a newsletter script should export all user emails to another system, with newsletter flag set, to email these users, so potentialy also deleted accounts can be emailed, as long these flags aren't corrected
- Now that's a reason to file a dispute: these users have been deleted, so we have to make sure they will never hear from us again
- I noticed is a previous discussion with Dirk that we seem to have a few of this data pollutions that need to be corrected. Maybe the developer group/SW team could make a list of them?
- back to the question ... handle within current case ? or not ... if not ... file a dispute ... who files the dispute ?
- seems to me there is a need for some clean-up here. But I suggest to create a new dispute, to handle all of this. Driver is not so much a need to do an official "delete my account", but the fact that otherwise the database will be polluted. So I'd say: have the SW group file a dispute, with motivation that this is a correction of a faulty "delete my account" procedure that has left residu in the database. That way the focus would be on the cleaning.
- Is it posible for the sysadmin who executes the last query to write this dispute?
- I don't think so (although, depends on who it was)

- He can, but needs to be instructed - But I'd say the SW team might be more appopriate. But he knows his way around in the DB, so he could write it
Summary: so current count is 1 to handle, 1 to defer to new dispute filing, 1 abstain and an option to outsource the dispute filing to Critical Sysadmin t/l or Software team. Best solution: probably to move to new dispute filing
