I am Guillaume, almost 37 year-old. I am French.

I have been helping at CAcert for a while now (early 2005) in many areas (support, org admin, arbitration, some sysadmin, new root creation), maybe less now I am lacking of spare time as I am employee representative.

I am more working behind the curtains to support people and trying to help finding long term solutions. I am talkative, good listener, I help people find their own good way. I am hard at work when motivated, especially when the cause or person is valuable. I don't invest just for spoiling my time. Life's too short.

I am a de facto member of CAcert Inc. And de facto is not de jure.

More general about CAcert

No one alone can fight for the future. So I believe about team of friends and a couple as well. Sharing and being supportive is something I like to give and well I like to have support when really needed.

I am proud to be one of the former secretaries of CAcert Board, my favorite is WrenHunt but I just cannot compare to him. I became CAcert board member, not because of some great talents and skills, but only as a supporting member to help CAcert rebirth from the previous ghost board. My thanks to Teus, Evaldo, Robert, Greg R., Greg S., Alejandro, Philipp G.& many others worldwide, including Austrian & German crews.

Ian Grigg ? Well ? He's great but if only he could have designed the rules more simply and have more esprit de corps. The whole thing is far to complex for me now. But hope is still here. (2012) Ian has improved much wise, rigorous even a team partner.

I am a former member of a french centrist party (mouvement democrate) and former member of late & favorite party UDF (Union pour la démocratie française).

I am now a member of an independent french union. I am trying to have time helping other co-workers.

Regarding french Presidents, Populism is not a policy at all. I hope for a better US President too (2008). Let's see how strong is Obama in this global crisis.

I am Catholic but my alternate God is Hephaestus and you are free to believe in any God you like but be wise do not trust Hera !

The Big Apple

When a simple story becomes a legend...

Two hundred years ago today, Irma Chine of White Plains, New York, was performing her normal housekeeping routines. She was interrupted by British soldiers who, rallying to the call of their supervisor, General Hughes, sought to gain control of the voter registration lists kept in her home. Masking her fear and thinking fast, Mrs. Chine quickly divided a nearby apple in two and deftly stored the list in its center. Upon entering, the British blatantly violated every conceivable convention, and, though they went through the house virtually bit by bit, their search was fruitless. They had to return empty handed. Word of the incident propagated rapidly through the region. This historic event became the first documented use of core storage for the saving of registers. As the urban legend propagated, New York became the Big Apple.
