Assurer Training Events 2012 (ATE12)
To UpcomingEvents - To Past Events
State of this document
This document refers to the "old" version of the ATE schemes and agendas. The Assurance Team is currently doing a complete re-work. You may follow along at the 2011 ATE Upgrade page.
This page is the overview about Assurer Training Events (or ATEs). Events have happened in many places:
- Deutschland, Paris, Prague, Budapest, London, Innsbruck, Sydney, Göteborg, Melbourne, Brisbane
ATEs are now an essential part of our audit process. If you attend an ATE, you are helping our audit. Even better, if you can help us to organise an ATE, you are doubly-helping the audit! Please contact the Event Organisation Officer at events@c.o.
Who should attend?
The Assurer Training Events are intended to transfer all the information to all Assurers and also potential Assurers.
PLEASE NOTE: |
As of 20090404, the non-Challenged Assurers are blocked in the system! |
If you have not passed the Assurer Challenge, you are no longer an Assurer |
As of 20101116, Tverify points are no longer counted -- you will need some more assurances! |
attending an ATE is a really good way for dealing with these challenges ... don't forget your ID |
Many changes have happened, mostly under the impact of CAcert's Audit
- new and much stronger Policies,
- defined Agreements which bring us into a Community
- detail of CAP forms
- Events Management.
- Arbitrations brought changes in Assurance procedures as well as strengthened the overall effect
Previous events conducted under audit scrutiny has shown that the demand for the new information is high.
Program
The Assurer Training Events are planned with two parts:
- Part I - Presentations (about 60-90 min)
Part II - Assurances, including Audit Assurances (about 60-90 min.)
The presentations are a bundle of short reports and presentations (5-10 min. each) about different parts of the CAcert changes in the background related by the audit with examples from the practice.
- the practical part II is open for Assurances.

Running an ATE
How to set up an ATE
At a minimum, you will need:
- A venue, available for around 3 hours. 1-2 hours for presentation, 1-2 hours for assurances.
- around 4 weeks notice so as to blog and mail people.
- a catchment area that gets you a good number of attendees.
- someone to present the material! Negotiate with the Events team on this. Also, ask about co-auditors.
Logistics
Consider:
Beamer for the English presentations (v4.5) or German Translations (v4.5)
- printed copies of the key documents:
many of the Assurance Policy
the others as listed in the EventOrganisation - Infrastructure - Documentation page.
What if I cannot attend?
There are plans to release the presentations and reports as podcasts or on youtube as the events are once finished.
Where to attend?
Each event has his own Wiki page listed above where you can attend as attendee or as speaker.
- (is it possible to add an Email attend button on each sub website?)
Sample: mailto:events@cacert.org?subject=ATE-attend-FFM&body=I%20will%20attend.
If you can help in any way, please let the organisers know! We need all the help we can get
