For the CAcert main website: here may be a brief text with some links to basic Wiki articles, as:
where user may find the very essential information. This short text with links should be permanent.
③ Strengthen the assurance
The property does exist, which AFAIK has solely CAcert, and this is assurance. I believe the assurance is the best method how to make certificates really trustworthy.
Why not put a notice about the assurance system right on the CAcert homepage? With a link to some suitable Wiki article, for example:
