Acceptable Documents for Switzerland
Primary Documents
If you understand german or french or prefer a german or french translation, consider having a look at it.
deutsch is certainly the most extended and up-to-date version about acceptable documents in Switzerland.
français is more extended and up-to-date as the english version.
As these are official Swiss languages they may be more complete than the english document here.
Passport
The swiss passport 2006 ist detailed in http://www.schweizerpass.admin.ch/pass/de/home/ausweise/pass_06.html. It is very similar to the older passport 2003.

ID card

Driver's Licence
The current driver's licence (issued since 2003) is detailed in http://www.astra2.admin.ch/media/pdfpub/2003-10-20_2261_d.pdf (pdf), it is quite similar to the EC driver's licence.
Older driver's licences, issued before 2003, also qualify as a primary document.
