(posting in cacert@lists.cacert.org) the mandatory announcement concept relating to the account settings on www.cacert.org My Details - My Alert Settings ( https://secure.cacert.org/account.php?id=36 ) is, that all email adresses are handled (i.e. for the upcoming CCA announcement http://wiki.cacert.org/wiki/RolloutCommunityAgreement ) so a solution thru SYMPA needs a frequently sync of member accounts email addresses, otherwise the mandatory announcements doesn't receive _all_ members The actual concept is a scripted mailing (see also arbitration case a20090525.1 http://wiki.cacert.org/wiki/Arbitrations/a20090525.1 ) The difference between the Events mailings and the CCA mailing is, that the Alert Settings doesn't needs to be checked for the CCA mailing, but checked by the Event mailings (respects Alert settings) ... Some guys requested in the past, to program this scripting concept to a webpage for officers (i.e. PR, Events, Board, Assurance Officer, Education Officer) under a submenu at www.cacert.org by filling a form with some options and the mailing text (i.e. mailing in a circle around a city, posts to a country, worldwide) Nobody wrote this app yet. About the content: yup - its about compressed infos regarding Assurance, CCA, and other infos, that are essential for the assurers in the community or for all who using certs (see above form with 'options') i.e. results of the Junior Members Policy discussion if its going to Draft so the policy is binding to all assurers

(12.09.2009 00:01:43) Uli: from mailbox time ... private mails named matrix mail, mailing lists / forum related: echomail, boards (00:02:35) Uli: matrix mail was one point to one point, echomail/boards, one to multi rcpts same as mailing lists today (00:02:53) Uli: but the same happens in forum (00:03:12) Uli: one writes to many as many reads (00:04:46) Uli: compare snailmail one point to point vs. flyers one to many

It makes no sense to list cacert-orga-assurer@lists.cacert.org and also cacert-orga-assurer-request@lists.cacert.org in above table(s) because the -request part is a mailing list command that relates to _all_ channels. other lists command line sequenzes: -owner Errors-to: cacert-education-owner@lists.cacert.org List-Help: sympa@lists.cacert.org?subject=help -request List-Owner: cacert-education-request@lists.cacert.org and others
