DNS Changes

Some DNS entries are of critical importance to CAcert.

Who can request a change?

DNS changes can be requested by:

Process

  1. The systems administrator defines what DNS change is required. DNS changes will only be accepted if relevant to the systems an administrator is responsible for.
  2. If the DNS changes a record entry to refer to an IP address not owned by CAcert permission of infrastructure-admin@cacert.org/dns-admin@cacert.org/Board is required.

  3. Administrators are to email dns-admin@cacert.org (and CC infrastructure-admin@cacert.org if non-critical infrastructure).

  4. DNS changes will occur and you will be notified once the change as taken place.
