=== CAcert subjects for Escrow ===
The escrowed subjects are sealed envelopes with keys and passwords are referenced in this document as CAcert Sealed Envelopes (SE's).

The SE's consist of:
 * Two white envelopes (type Barional A6), sealed with blue (3Com) security tape with three signatures in blue ink from Wytze van der Raay, Teus Hagen and Mendel Mobach, dated CAcert 28th of November 2008, with the identification:
  * passwd escrow keys;
  * escrow keys.
  . Remark: on 28th of November 2008 pictures have been taken of these two envelopes.

The SE envelopes may contain: USB memory sticks and labelled with key labels, and/or list of passwords.

== Conditions for key recovery ==
The sealed envelopes (SE's) are allowed to be recovered from Escrow under the following conditions:
 * Public notice of '''Key Recovery Decision''' (e.g. [[CAcertIncorporated|CAcert Inc. wiki page]]) from Board Meeting decision or CAcert Inc. General Meeting decision, decision defines:
  * Identification of which sealed envelope to recover from escrow;
  * Mandate to specified person (Key Recovery Officer), mentioned in the publicized recovery decision) to recover the envelope from escrow;
  * Definition of actions to be performed by the Key Recovery Officer as specified in this publicized decision;
  * Key Recovery Decision to be (digitally) signed by at least two Board members, included the Public Officer (Board Decision) or in the case of General Meeting decision: two CAcert Inc. association members, included the Public Officer or person acting as Public Officer, their names as defined in the General Meeting minutes. Names to be verified with the trade office extract (Public Officer), published Board members list, or in the case of General Meeting decision the General Meeting minutes as registered with the trade office.
  * Report of actions taken after escrow recovery from Key Recovery Officer within 4 weeks. 
  . Opening of any Sealed Envelope under four eye principle by CAcert Officers as appointed by CAcert Inc. under conditions of the [[http://svn.cacert.org/CAcert/Policies/SecurityPolicy.html|CAcert Security Policy]]. Opening of SE procedure is not part of key escrow recovery conditions procedure.

The SE's are lacated with a dutch Notary with an Act of Preservation (Acte van Bewaarstelling): Notary Office XYZ, Village, the Netherlands.
