= I've been assured at a big event, but... = '''Question:''' My documents have been checked at a big event (e.g. [[events/CeBit|CeBIT]], [[events/LinuxTag|LinuxTag]], LinuxWochen ...), I filled out that paper form ("called CAP Form"), days passed without that I got a mail that I've been assured and I did not receive my assurance-points. What's wrong?? '''Answer:''' ''Nothing may be wrong!'' At such a big event the nice guy who kept this papers is now at home and has a lot of work to do processing large stacks of paper. Just be patient. ''Possible things that could have gone wrong:'' * Your email-address was unreadable so the assurer tried to access an invalid account. Don't laugh! This is a common problem! * Your account at CAcert has been removed because you never validated your email address in 48 hours. (For example because the request for validation has been treated as spam by your email client.) * You didn't fill out the primary email-address field ('name' of your account at CAcert) in the CAP form * The assurer sent you a reminder through CAcert, but it was treated as spam by your email client. * When you created your account at CAcert, you misspelled your name or entered a wrong birthday. The assurer checked this and sent you a short mail notifying you of the problem, but you never corrected your details. '''Question:''' I didn't get all the assurance points that were 'promised'. '''Answer:''' * Maybe your ID documents have been too weak and the assurer reconsidered the amount of points. Usually he should notify you of this via mail. * Maybe the process took too long due to one of the problems mentioned above, so the 'super-assurer' (can issue max. 150 points) is now a 'normal' assurer again. He can only issue max. 35 points now. (by Ralf Neumann based on CeBIT 2005 live experiences ;-) ) ---- . CategoryAssurance
