Proposal Newsletter Article - Arbitrators Wanted (2013-05-16)
In informal Arbitration team meeting 2013-05-16 some thoughts were made How to bring in new Arbitrators
- So everyone can prepare an article for a new newsletter ... so one article can become Arbitrators wanted
- There was some rethinking about the skills, that qualifies a CAcert Arbitrator (Which skills needs an arbitrator)
a.
skills exclude of the skills about assurances and CAcert things
b.
have enough time ... 2, 3 times upto 30 mins a week ... probably 1-4 times 2-4 hours in a month

must skilled with the commen law (???)
d.
skills about CAcert policy framework (but this is still part of the training .... )

to become familar what other policies except CCA and AP exists

knowledge about CAcert teams (will become part of the training)

good skills in active listening

good communication skills

good skills in self-motivation (to pickup work by its own, instead of waiting for someone other)

good in analyzing topics

skills like an office job for many hours a month

good documentation skills

Some, but not too much, self-confidence. Should not let herself be bullied around, but be aware of own shortcomings.

- Helping CAcert
- Do what you can do ... one can help in Events, one can help in Support, one can help in Arbitration
- The benefits of a sports referee: To get the game going, and keep it fair
- Some personal reputation
IMHO an Arbitrator should not do the job becaus of personal benefits, but because he/she recognises that the job must be done. BernhardFröhlich
